[SC] The Far North (Arctic)
Have you ever seen the Northern Lights dance in a moonlit sky,
Or heard the distant cries of wolves in the mountains way up high?
Have you ever walked the icy plains where the rain stings and burns,
Or felt the cold pierce through your bones like a thousand knifing turns?
There’s something in the Arctic Wind that holds me like a spell
And it beckons me to live like men, the men only legends tell.
Far away out in the Grey echoes its weathering call,
To brave and bold the winter cold once and for all.
I first started this map months ago but, at that time, the existence of such a beautiful texture mod had not come fully into existence. It inspired me to finish this map, my first ever, and upload it to the workshop. I used a heightmap from somewhere up the top of the globe, I forget where now. I hope you can enjoy it and don’t forget to rug up while you build because this place is subzero.

Features of the map
- Icey ponds that appear frozen over at times.
- Large, mostly flat expanses of snowy areas, bordered by thick tree lines.
- Dense forest areas for forestry industry.
- Ore and oil are available in many directions from the starting tile.
- A few small cliff faces and waterfalls.
- One connected highway and two unconnected highways on the sides.
- Rail access one tile from the starting tile.
- An area for building docks with access to sea routes, and flight paths overhead.
