Pohnpei Island – Pacific Ocean

This is tropical map based on real location – Pohnpei island in Micronesia on Pacific Ocean.
The map is not 100% accurate. Pohnpei is an island covered with rainforest, but this map is more friendly to play. It has moderate amount of trees just enough to look good. Mountains and hills has also been scaled up to create steeper slopes and higher cliffs. Cities built below feel small with all those overlooking mountains.
There are some flat areas along the coast so you should have anough space to plan big cities too. Shoreline is not straightforward though. Beaches are split with rocky cliffs and steep slopes.
I think it is rather challenging map. You will be very limited by terrain, but on the other hand valleys, beaches, and hills are good ocasion to build something more organic than grid city.
This map has only one highway and one railroad connection. Be prepared for heavy traffic.

I strongly suggest using mod that allows you to play on 25 tiles.
Gula’s Tall Grass and Washingtonia palms are recommended, but not required.
Don’t ask about LUT I used. I do not remember, especially After Dark it is hard to find good one.
Texture information was old… I am planning to make custom map theme, but actually any tropical one looks good ?
