The unusual pillar type pine found on New Caledonia is a survivor from Gondwanaland of the dinosaur era! It is represented here by Shroomblaze’s tree, which looks quite a bit like it, found here.

The mountains that form this map’s backbone is originally the Musandam Peninsula of Oman, called “the Norway of the Middle East”. By the time I was done adding land to optimize it for play, it looked quite a bit like a very different location!
