Flatlands (2.5) complex road & rail network
I’ve taken the excellent “Flatlands (2.5)” map by Mulleboy and rebuilt the roads and railway network to make an exciting base for any city.
As well as a huge central station with railroads in all directions, there is also an elevated highway as well as a ground-level highway linked to various smaller roads.
All credit for the map goes to mulleboy and whilst I wouldn’t criticize someone’s work (given how good it is), I do think the very generic straight cross highway and railroads are rather uninspiring. So a total rebuild was in order.
For added realism, not all highway interchanges include the ability to go in every direction (seeing as cars need not go back from where they came – your cims don’t take a wrong turn in Cities Skylines). There are no railroad interchanges either; such things don’t exist in the real world and look silly in-game when added.
I’ve also added a small island to the map for variety. Inspired by “Goose Island” in Chicago.
