Candler building 220 West 42nd St. (4×3 growable high comm lvl 3)

Please leave a vote if you download! This is a 4×3 high commercial building lvl 3 based on the Candler Building in New York, at 42nd street. This building is part of a 42nd street series. Expect many theatres and other leisure buildings when Collosal Order makes the option available!

About the model
This model has about 6800 tris and a 2048×1024 texture, with a diffuse, shadow, normal, illumination and specularmap. It’s my first classic skyscraper and the first building where I extensively made use of texturetiling.
This model has a custom LoD, which is about 260 tris with a 512×256 texture, with a diffuse, specular, normal and illumination map.

About the building
This is based of the Candler building in New York at 220 West 42nd St. right at the heart of Manhattan. It stands a little over 107 meters tall, excluding the antenna.

The Candler Building was built between 1912 and 1914 as a commission from Asa G. Candler, a founder of The Coca-Cola Co. It is located in Manhattan near Times Square. During rehabilitation, this 24-story, white terra cotta tower underwent restoration of the exterior envelope as well as a base building upgrade and interior modernization. Core spaces – including elevators, stairs, and restrooms – were replaced, relocated, and overhauled. State-of-the-art mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems were also installed.

Its ground floor now houses a McDonald’s restaurant.

During a scene in the 1978 film Superman, the Candler Building and the McGraw-Hill Building are clearly visible. The pre-expansion Port Authority Bus Terminal can also be seen near the McGraw-Hill Building.

This cityscape is dramatically different today, and the block and a half between the two tall and unique buildings is now filling with even taller towers (built, under construction, or proposed). The Candler Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The building is owned by the Paramount Group, who bought the building in 2006.

RICO
If you want this building added to your RICO buildings, add it in the settings menu, under growables. I recommend using the realistic population mod, this will calculate the amount of occupants in the building.

Updates
– Redid the LoD, reduced it by 640 tris, texture should look even sharper than it did.
– Addes Sketchfab model and updated description.
