Airport Stopbar Pack

Airport Stopbar Pack

Basic Info

A collection of airplane stop bars for an airport. These are game geometry and NOT decals.

These are the lines that aircraft will use to line up at their gates. Dashed stop-bars are used to represent alternative configurations. For example, an airport might have two gates next to each other which can each service an A320 (so 2x A320s) or a single 757. In this case, the 757 stop bar would be solid, and the A320 stop bars would be dashed.

I also included the full MARS (Multiple Apron Ramp System) stop bar configuration, as well as a version with the surrounding plane stand, taken from a real gate. This planestand could only service aircraft up to the A350 (i.e. not the A380).

Stop bar lines will often list which aircraft should be parked at that position. While the actual nomenclature is specific to the airport, I settled on a mix between several different reference. The listed aircraft are:

  • B737
  • B747
  • B757
  • B767
  • B777
  • B787
  • A320 (should also be valid for A318, and A319)
  • A321
  • A330
  • A350
  • E170 (should be valid for the ERJ-175, and ERJ-195)
  • E145 (should be valid for the ERJ-145, and ERJ-135)
  • CRJ (should be valid for CRJ-900, and I suspect CRJ-800, CRJ-700, but not the CRJ-200).
  • Q400 (should be valid for the Dash-8-400)
  • Q300 (should be valid for the Dash-8-300)

Empty stop bars are from aircraft that are no longer in service. Such as the MD-10, MD-11, and L1011.

Performance

These assets use the same texture as my airport line pack, which is 512×512 diffuse, and a 128×128 LOD.

The triangle count varies between these props, from 12-236 Tris, and the LODs are reduced versions of the original model, to the point as far as detail can be simplified (for some, it’s a reduction by 8 tris).
I am not going to list the tri count for each one.
