A little plain, but hey, this is the grasslands of Rohan, Middle Earth. Included is Edoras Fortress HIll in the center. The actual location is Mount Sunday, Canterbury, New Zealand.

In order to make those greens turn into the tan/brownish Rohan colours you see here, the colour filter “Super Vibrant” is what I use You can find it here:

Plenty of resources (fewer trees, of course), good water flow, lots of flat land to grow a decent sized city.

I kept the resources etc behind the ideal view of Edoras seen in the movies (see photos), so as to not spoil the view.

Now we just need someone to make model buildings that will be accurate, although watching container ships ply the waters of the river through Rohan is kind of funny in itself ?
