Captial District, NY (Hudson and Mohawk River Valley’s Confluence)

EDIT: Two of the most difficult interchanges were created for this map by two of the best interchange creators in our game today…along with a Trumpet exchange for 787 @ Broadway in “Menands”. Also, I purposefully left the map devoid of trees in order to allow everyone, including those with lower end computers, to be able to add whatever trees that they prefer as well as how many, without having to delete any first. ?

My hat’s off to these folks for volunteering to help me out!

This is a map of the Upstate NY area known as the Capital District/Capital Region, where the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers meet. It includes the northern most part of Albany (along the I-90 corridor), All of Colonie, Menands, Troy, Green Island, Cohoes, parts of Waterford, Half Moon, Rennselaer and East/North(?) Greenbush.

All of the major highways are as accurately placed as I could possibly make them (using Google Maps with Terrain as my reference). Highways included are I-90 from the edge of Albany/Rennsealaer up past Colonie), 787 from The I-90 interchange until it turns into Cohoes Boulevard, the entirety of Alternate Route 7 from Troy to Latham, and I-87 from the 90 interchange in Colonie to north past the Mohawk River/Twin Bridges and into the Halfmoon area. The interchanges are NOT accurate. They are placeholders…I did attempt to find accurate interchanges, but didn’t have the patience/time to find them all (I got close on a couple of them). I also included the interchanges for the major routes that connect to the highway system (Route 9 in Albany, 378 in Menands/Troy, Alternate rt 7 @ Hoosick St in Troy, Troy-Schenectady Rd interchange @ Exit 6 on I-87, etc..

I’ve spent quite a few hours on this…with 3 kids and a house, it wasn’t easy…but I recently quit smoking and needed a distraction. I hope everyone who gives it a shot enjoys the map. I tried to make it as accurate as possible. Scale was tough to pull off (wish that I could have zoomed in more on the IRL map), but overall I’m happy with the results. No Mods were used in creating this map (ugh). :p
